Hu Tang 胡唐 (1759-1826), Chinese seal artist

The Chinese seal artist Hu Tang was born in Xi county, Anhui Province. He was a nephew of Ba Weizu, and was one of the “Four Scholars of the Xi School.” A poem by Zhao Zhiqian says, “The great artists of the Anhui and Zhejiang schools can be counted on the fingers. They are Ding Jing, Huang Yi, Deng Shiru, Zhiang Ren, Ba Weizu, Hu Tang and Chen Hongshou.”
